Four questions to bring

Compare what is included.

Installation, device lease, monitoring and removal may be separate charges. A daily advertised rate may not represent the full amount you will pay. Review the agreement and billing schedule before committing.

Getting started

What are the installation and initial charges for my vehicle? Are any deposits or setup charges required?

Recurring service

What is the lease or service charge, how often is it billed, and is calibration included or charged separately?

Changes along the way

What charges could apply to missed visits, lockouts, resets, vehicle changes, repairs or replacement equipment?

Finishing the program

What will the final download and authorized removal cost? Which optional products, taxes or other charges are outside the quoted total?

Kansas affordability program

may be available.

KDOR determines eligibility for Kansas’s Ignition Interlock Affordability Program. Approval can reduce covered program costs by 50%.

Read the official DC-1016 application

Who may qualify?

The official application lists these alternative eligibility criteria:

  • Annual household income at or below 150% of the federal poverty level.
  • Enrollment in specified food assistance, childcare subsidy or cash assistance programs.
  • Current eligibility for low-income energy assistance, as determined by the Kansas Department for Children and Families.

What does the reduction cover?

For approved applicants, the official form lists the device lease, installation, monthly calibration and removal. Additional charges related to violations, mechanical failures, noncompliance, late fees or lockouts are excluded.

Submit the required eligibility documentation to KDOR using the current form. Ask how an approval will be reflected in your charges. Program eligibility is determined by the state, and an inquiry does not guarantee approval.

Make your estimate useful

Your vehicle. Your county. Your questions.

Share your county, vehicle details and the service you need. Confirm appointment access and travel costs when comparing options across Kansas. Ask which charges could change if your program lasts longer than expected.
